About the VidLii Guidelines

The VidLii Guidelines should be self-explanatory and are very easy to understand. They try to appeal to as many different types of people as possible. Please try to follow the few rules we have and you won't get in trouble.

The Rules

  • VidLii is not a shock site! Don't upload shock content or real-world depictions of gore or extreme violence. Intentionally doing so will earn you a swift ban. However, if it's contained in another work where proper context is given, like a documentary or horror video, then it's allowed.
  • Pornography and sexually explicit videos aren't allowed. The same counts for animation! As long as nudity isn't the main focus of the video, it's allowed.
  • Don't spam the site, either with text comments or video uploads. Advertising is allowed as long as it isn't excessive.
  • Don't upload videos showing animal abuse or mistreatment.
  • Don't upload, promote, or link to child abuse material or pedophilia. We have a zero-tolerance policy for this.
  • Don't promote terrorism or violent ideologies.
  • Don't abuse the flagging system by submitting false or misclassified reports.
  • Don't attempt to gain unauthorized access to an account that isn't yours.
  • Don't share your login details with anyone else.
  • Avoid using deliberately misleading titles and thumbnails. This is at your discretion, but egregious violations may be enforced.

How We Enforce These Guidelines

Okay, this one is more about us than you. VidLii staff review flagged videos periodically to determine whether they violate our Community Guidelines. When they do, we remove them. Accounts are penalized for Community Guidelines violations and serious or repeated violations can lead to account termination. Don't try to look for loopholes or try to lawyer your way around these simple rules. Attempting to evade bans will just result in more bans.
